What a beautiful day. Blue skies,a gentle breeze, warm temperatures. A day more suited to mid-
September than less-than-2-months-from Christmas. There's a gentle quiet around the town today.
Democracy is in the air.
I read the 'net posts and listen to some of the conservative hosts on radio whipping up righteous indignation about some trouble at the polls, but to me it has a Norman Rockwell feel.
Democracy is in the air.
A very small wait at my polling place, but it was pleasant. Poll workers were well-trained and polite. One offered me pizza. We talked about a variety of things. They told me they had over 50% voting in the precinct by 2PM. I know there were McCain supporters on hand, they know I'm an Obama guy, but it was a pleasant quarter of an hour.
America's greatest tradition plays out. There will be fights somewhere I suppose. Grumpy folks will complain and there will be some bad winners taking too big a delight in other's despair.
But there's a gentle breeze and sunshine.
And Democracy is in the air.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle and of your busy morning, take a minute to reflect each day on the bigger picture.
