The people of Alaska probably aren't surprised. They've already learned that she doesn't keep her word. After all, she ran for Governor and then quit when she found she could make more dough in the lower 48.
But Sarah Palin fans in the rest of America are getting a taste of her self-centeredness now as well.
"She speaks as a moral person," said one of her Buckeye State fans. Another supporter proclaimed "No matter what Sara says she can back it up." Unless, I guess, her morality tells her she's had enough and the fans can be damned.
In Indiana, she was actually booed by the folks who came to see her when she left without keeping her word on book signings.
Message to America: folksy, friendly talking points spoken in an attractive package mean little if they aren't backed by actions that suggest the speaker means what she says. Actions speak louder than words, they say, and look at Mrs. Palin's actions--on the big stage and in these little things.
Seems to me they shout loudly that her word means little. Sarah does what Sarah wants and those who were promised what she has decided she won't deliver will just have to watch her hiney as she leaves.
Just ask the people of Alaska.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle and of your busy morning, take a minute to reflect each day on the bigger picture.
Ok. She’s a neophyte with poor planning and bad staff work. The same thing that’s happening in the White House. But here’s the thing. Vice Presidents aren’t expected to be at the top of their game. Look at Vice President Biden. On the other hand, we do expect more from the Office of the President. And so far I don’t see it in this White House.
